Quickbooks does have a free trial of their Desktop software available. The free trial allows you to use all of the features of the Desktop software free for 30 days.

Free trials are available for the following Desktop software:

  • Quickbooks Pro
  • Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise
  • Quickbooks Desktop Mac

Tip: You can download a free trial of their desktop software at quickbooks.Intuit.com

One Reason NOT to Download the Free Trial:

Like the free Edition of TurboTax, the Quickbooks free trial comes with one potential drawback. When you initially use a coupon and have the option to buy at up to a 50% discount or to use the free trial.

If you choose to buy, you may get a better price than the purchase price after the free trial ends.

Because Quickbooks is a monthly subscription, that discount can end up being significant over the course the 3 or 6 month promotion.

My advice is to only choose the free trial version if you are undecided. If you know that you want to use Quickbooks long-term, then jump on the chance to get the discount price for the first 3 months!
